On Monday, (an optional event), we have scheduled Sleepy Hole Golf Course. This newly polished gem on the shore of the mile-wide Nansemond River has hosted eight LPGA Tour events and served as a venue for many prestigious amateur tournaments. Picturesque Sleepy Hole Golf Course was designed by renowned architect Russell Breeden and built in 1972. In June of 2003, we gave our venerable course a well-earned rest and renovation under the direction of golf course architect Tom Clark.
This will be a blind draw event. Let Rich Pace know if you will be playing and if you want to form your own foursome.

Our official start to the fall trip begins at 11:30 on Tuesday with the 18-hole "Signature" course at the Westneck facility in Virginia Beach. It features 7,280 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the Signature golf course opened in 2001. “We wanted to design a course where the average golfer can come out and spend a day with his family and have a good time enjoying the game of golf. Sure, we want to make it difficult enough where good players will be challenged, but our main focus is on the average golfer. We’re also careful to preserve the natural beauty of the place. We don’t look at it as taking away from the environment, but more like giving something back.” Arnold Palmer on his design philosophy at The Signature

On Wednesday, the 18-hole "Riverfront" course at the Riverfront Golf Club facility in Suffolk, provides a great challenge. With a par of 71 and it’s Bermuda grass fairways and greens, it will be a fair challenge to all. Designed by Tom Doak, the Riverfront golf course opened in 1999. Designer Tom Doak sculpted the beautiful layout to take full advantage of the natural beauty surrounding it. It is a magnificent waterfront golf design. Tees are typically at ground level, the fairways are generally wide and friendly and chipping areas are plentiful. Large deep bunkers, combined with undulating greens make shot-making crucial. All but three of the 18 holes are bordered on one side by natural features, whether tidal marshes skirting along its fairways or undulating greens at water's edge - with beach bunkers on three sides. Mature pines, oaks and sycamores overhang the marsh, adding beauty and majesty to the design.

On Thursday we play Heron Ridge. Designed by Fred Couples and Gene Bates Heron Ridge Golf Club opened in 1999 and has developed into one of the finest, best kept & friendliest golf facilities in all of Hampton Roads. Heron Ridge, which features 14 holes with lakes, water hazards or natural wetlands winds around a unique setting of tall Oak, Beech & Elm Trees, Wetlands, Natural Depressions and uncommon Elevation changes, topography that is not typically found in this geographical area. All of these elements lead to a unique feel on each and every hole and provides a more memorable experience for those that take on the challenge.

We finish on Friday, by playing the classic Red Wing Lake Golf Course designed by George W. Cobb. This championship layout plays modestly difficult, and definitely rewards good shots and will sometimes be forgiving of bad ones. The course was closed for a while for renovations and is now open for your enjoyment. All greens were rebuilt, shaped and seeded with Bent grass. Each fairway was reworked to improve drainage and enhance character; they remain within corridors of mature loblolly pines.
